Weekly Menu Idea

So I had an idea. I often make a menu, write my shopping list, buy the groceries and then somehow don't make whats on the menu and end up wasting some food or freezing it. So I had the idea to post my menu on the blog and then at the end of the week talk about what I made, what worked, what didn't, what we liked and what we disliked. We will see how this works.

This week I decided to cook on the grill as much as possible because our temps are reaching the upper 90s, it's friggin hot and I would rather not heat up my entire house while I'm trying to cool it down.

Monday: BBQ Chicken and pasta salad
Tuesday: Burgers on the grill and Corn
Wednesday: Chili's Southwestern Egg Rolls (I'm making them from a copycat recipe, not ordering them from the restaurant)
Thursday: Pizza on the grill (first attempt with making dough from scratch, first attempt with yeast and first attempt at grilling pizza dough)
Friday: Goodwood Restaurant for Steak (request from the hubby)

**I only make a menu for Monday-Friday we are usually out and about on the weekends.

We had burgers and corn on the grill on Tuesday! Crazy! I agree with you about cooking on the grill. It takes forever for the house to cool off after cooking inside. Besides that is the fun of summer. Let me know how the pizza turns out, I have been wanting to try that.

You should do what I do. Whenever I am hungry, I stick my head in the fridge and see what I can make really fast. It works great, most of the time.

Let me know how the pizza on the grill works. My family LOVES homemade pizza, so I make it quite a bit. The dough is super easy. If you want an easy recipe let me know. Though, I am not sure how it works out on the grill:)

Sounds like a wonderful menu. Great idea. It sure keeps me on track when I've got a vision. I only plan for five nights a week, too. We inevitably end up with leftovers, a night out, or an invite.
