Shirley J Sauce

I was watching Good Things Utah yesterday and they featured a product called Shirley J Universal Sauce. This looks like an amazing product but I'm wondering if it's good. Has anyone tried it?

I didn't see it on t.v. but looking at the link the universal sauce appears (from the recipes) to be your basic white sauce. Like what you would use for alfredo, etc. just not seasoned yet. And $25 + shipping for 48 oz. seems pretty expensive when you can make your basic white sauce for cheap.

And the other sauces/spices are just other versions of what you can buy at the grocery store. Maybe they taste better than some at the store but I can't imagine bottled sauces tasting that much better than homemade.

You'll have to let me know if you try it.

I think that I'm going to order it next week after I get paid. It is your basic white sauce, but it's healthier for you and saves you time because you just add water and boil it. So it's going to save you about 15 minutes of cooking time, which is worth it to me! I will let you know when I try it!

Hey Amber. Just spotted your blog. I actually work for Shirley J and love the Universal Sauce! It's totally worth the try.

I myself cook a lot and love cooking/baking from scratch. But I don't always have the time...and that's when I like to use the Universal Sauce.

I'm also absolutely obsessed with the Pizza & Pasta Seasoning. I use it to make vinaigrettes.

Have you had a chance to try it. I'd love to know what you think.
